Composition

CARESORB® – Polyglactin 910 Sutures is a multifilament, braided, sterile synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide, coated with a copolymer of Polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate. The suture is available dyed with FDA-approved color additive D&C Violet No. 2 – CI 60725 or undyed in the natural beige color.

Polyglactin 910 is also named as: Poly(glycolide-co-L-lactide) 90/10, Glacomer 91, Lactomer 9-1, Polyglycolic Acid 9-1, PGLA

Characterstics

CARESORB® provides wound support for 30 days. Complete absorption is accomplished by hydrolysis in 56-70 days.

Indications

CARESORB® – Polyglactin 910 Sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures; but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues.

(A mild inflammatory reaction may occur, which is typical of an endogenous reaction to foreign bodies)

Notice

Sterilized by Ethylene Oxide (EO). Do not re-sterilize | reuse. Do not use if the package is opened or damaged.

Storage

Recommended storage conditions below 25⁰C, away from moisture and direct heat. Do not use after the expiry date. Shelf life: 5 years from the date of manufacturing.
