Capsular Tension Ring for Cataract Surgery

Clinical Relevance
In cataract surgery, zonular compromise may increase the risk of capsular instability, posterior capsule rupture, vitreous loss, intraocular lens decentration, and postoperative lens displacement. A capsular tension ring provides circumferential support within the capsular bag, redistributing tension across the zonules and helping to stabilize areas affected by weak or deficient zonules.
